What exactly does the mountroot error screen look like? How did you get
pfSense onto the mSATA drive?
If you installed on another box and moved, you'll probably have to
manually specify the right root slice, then once it's booted, edit fstab.
Failing that, have you tried using the boot option that says "Boot
pfSense using USB device"? Or you can drop to a loader prompt and try:
set kern.cam.boot_delay=10000
If that works you can drop that into /boot/loader.conf.local
I'm running pfSense on my 6501 on a SATA drive, haven't tried the mSATA
disk yet.
