[Soekris] how to xfer an OS/install from a VirtualBoxVM to a running Soekris, over the network?

Overwriting your life OS is dangerous at best.
The fs will continue to flush data to blocks which will hold something  
entirely different if dd was already there. A pagefault for some  
program running can cause the wrong data to be loaded and crash the  
program (i.e. your shell?) or even the OS.
A safer approach would be to build a bootable image that fits in your  
swap partition. Then disable swap, write the image to your swapdev  
then boot from from that and then do the netcat (nc)|dd or nfs dd.
Or use freebsd update..
