[Soekris] "Error Programming Flash." on net5501

Hey All-

When I try to change the console speed or anything else in the net5501 
BIOS I get:

 > set ConSpeed=9600

Error Programming Flash.

I've tried it several times, rebooting, power cycling, etc., same issue. 
  This is running BIOS version 1.33; perhaps 1.33b fixes it (change log 
says nothing).

This is a brand new board, a replacement for Soekris for a board with 
another issue.

In the archives there was one post about this, but for them it worked on 
the second try, and no answers were given:
