[Soekris] net5501 internal USB header

Does anyone have experience using the interal USB header of the 5501. My guess is that it is J5, although I can't find any documentation to substantiate that. (If it is J5, which pin is the ground?) When testing w/ a USB A to motherboard header cable and a thumb drive, my FreeBSD 6.2 system doesn't recognize the drive when I connect it to the cable. However, when I insert or remove the drive from the external USB of the system, I clearly see status messages logged to the console regarding these events. Thanks for any info.
