[Soekris] Mounting cf in pxeboot on a net4501

Howdy all,
I have got my net4501 to pxeboot a kernel and mount its root
filesystem over nfs. So all I want to do is fdisk the compact flash
card, set up a filesystem, copy the nfs mount to the new filesystem
and install the kernel. However I can't run fdisk /dev/hda. It just
says:

fdisk: cannot open /dev/hda

I think I am missing something in the kernel config maybe? I have
attached my kernel config and dmesg output from the booted nfs root
kernel. I am using kernel version 2.6.21.5.
The export options on the nfs root are
insecure,sync,rw,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check
  Thanks for the help.

	Fred
