It appears that the same problem exists with the 8GB Sandisk
SDCFH-8192 card I have. It comes with a FAT32 FS preformatted but
appears to be impervious to write operation from e.g. fdisk (I have a
Gentoo Linux installation). When I alter the partition table with
fdisk fdisk reports an I/O error after which the disk is unreadable.
After a reboot (that part of the BIOS update does work ;-)) the old
partition table is still present. Writing to the disk with cp does not
work either.
Any suggestion, anybody?
