I am not sure if this is related as well.
The only box I have with the new bios, booting FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE from
yesterday, is not able to bring the vr interfaces up. During kernel
probing the message "MII without any phy!" shows up with all of them.
First I thought I had messed up my kernel config but I really didn't
changed anything.
I just had the chance to boot the *exact* same flash on a 5501 with the
previous BIOS version and the problem does not occur.
Again, not sure if this is related with your new BIOS version.
Thanks!
