I would suggest setting up the file systems on the CF card on another 
Debian box, then creating a new directory /target and mounting the new 
filesystems under /target. Then you can use debootstrap to install 
Debian to /target. You can then chroot into your new Debian installation 
and configure it further. You will then need to run install a Kernel, 
then grub or lilo and configure console on /dev/ttyS0.
