[Soekris] Soekris CF Card Install

Installation by CF Card (another IDE 2,5" hdd ist connected, the BIOS recognizes both)

I made a FAT16 format on the CF Card (no further partitions, Kingston 1024 mb)
I used syslinux to make it bootable
I copied linux and initrd.gz  (debian hdd install)

my SYSLINX.CFG:
label install-linux
    DEFAULT /linux console=ttyS0,19200n8 root=/dev/hda1
    append initrd=/initrd.gz ramdisk_size=10240 root=/dev/rd/0 devfs=mount,dall rw DEBCONF_PRIORITY=medium

and I got this kernel panaic Message :-(
[I've tried sda1->3, sdb1->3, hda1->3, hdb1->3]

....

Linux IP multicast router 0.06 plus PIM-SM

VFS: Cannot open root device "sdb1" or 08:11

Please append a correct "root=" boot option

Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 08:11


Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?!
