while scsi/fc might be better in terms of cpu load with the throughput i
doubt it would make sense, at least with 4801 that can't fully handle
the data from my 4k2 hitachi ata drive, the upcoming 7501 might be
another issue possibly.

the 2 drive question will be more one of case and/or power supply,
though you can try to construct something for both issues
(the 2.5" drive do only require a 5V, that can be routed dircetly with a
dc-dc converter from the external powersupply in the case that the
internal converters can't handle it)
