Some boot loaders like to have more than just those 3 wired up.

If you just want a lead for one box this is probably overkill, but
for the toolbag I like http://www.ossmann.com/5-in-1.html (in my case
adapted for cisco pinouts so I can use the same adapters to plug PCs
into terminal servers, but ymmv)
