Soren/Soekris - can we ask that you try to reproduce and put
"checking the firmware and disk initialization" on a future ToDo  
list :-)

After doing reboot from OS (OpenBSD in my case) it hangs at:
comBIOS ver. 1.31m 20070606  Copyright (C) 2000-2007 Soekris  
Engineering.

... for about one minute
and then proceeds with not finding neither CF nor hard disc
( tried with one HD and no CF, both HD and CF, CF alone)

Diagnose:
1) only HD connected OS installed
I did try switching power supply from the one delivered with my 5501
to another I have used for years on 4801.

2) no HD, no CF card
I did try removing the disc and doing reboot from comBIOS
- works fine, but without OS not much fun either :-)

3) CF card booting, hard disc as slave
I did try adding a CF card along with the HD, no change

Booting from a CF card went fine, but when rebooting it gave the same  
problem :-(
