OK. 2 wireless cards made me think that you were relaying the signal over a
mountain or around a corner. Probably you can get better single band
omni-directional antenna's but they will be expensive although it's quite
possible to DIY. Try googling for 'ham 2.4GHz omni antenna' or something
along those lines. There have been various designs on Internet (for
direcional antennas) using pringles cans, chinese fry spoons etc.
But that goes beyond this mailing list.
