Hello.

It is just me, or both the HDD and the CF are slave drives?
(ok, the HDD must be master if you can boot from it typing "boot 80"
but the output of comBIOS on your first post shows that both are
slave.)

Try setting the HDD to cable-select using the jumper provided with
the Soekris HDD .  This way, you should be able to swap the CF and HDD
and both will not be master or slave concurrently.
