[Soekris] Aureal PCI soundcard

Hello,

I am having some weird problems with my Soekris's PCI slot. Namely, it
works fine with a 3.3V keyed USB controller, Parallel port controller,
NIC (RTL8139, eww) and a Rockwell Riptide soundcard. I would just use
the Riptide card, but this card redefines the meaning of "craptastic"
and the drivers are awful. So, I bought an Aureal AU8830 soundcard.
However, it is not recognised at all by the Soekris, it does not show
up in the PCI device list at bootup. It does work, but I've only
managed to test it successfully in a +5V-keyed slot. Is this a bad
card, bad soekris, or what?

Also, next to the two filter capacitors next to the BIOS, there is a
small coil. This gets VERY hot. I've measured it at 60C for some time.
Anyway, I am wondering if this has to do with the fact that I am
powering the soekris with a DC adapter rated at 9V, 500mA, and if
there are any problems with this.

Regards,
Vasily
