[Soekris] Possibly dying net4801?

Sorry about the HTML format, I wasn't thinking about it when I sent the
original e-mail.

Anyways, to enlighten on my problem that had been reoccurring. The
temperature would raise to about 52-54C with a heatsink on it and thermal
paste, it would also raise much much higher and lock up after running
about 10minutes tops without the heatsink. I had rigged it all together to
give the heatsink more pressure to see if that would help, but to no
avail, it didn't and it kept locking up. I took an old power supply to
test and see if the original (maybe a little over one year old? power
supply bought from soekris.com) power supply was failing in some form or
another, because it always seemed to supply consistent power at about
12.024V. So far it seems to be running at a much lower temperature with no
heatsink at all, and it hasn't locked up in 24 hours so far. We'll see if
this might've just fixed it, but my other question is how long of a life
span are these psu's suppose to have? because I know for sure mine started
acting up a long time ago, which has always been on apc 700's getting
hopefully clean power...
