[Soekris] terminal server

I am looking to build/buy a low cost (150/port max), low power
consumption (off grid use) terminal server. It should be atleast 2
serial ports and 1 ethernet. I am looking at the net4501-30.  My
prefered os would be would be Mikrotik but am willing to concider
others. Is anyone going this? Any thoughts? 

Also looking at the 4801 which might let us use it for web page caching
as well.
