That's right.

The simplest solution I know of is to get a 24-to-12 volt switchmode
converter of the type commonly available for truck and marine use
(nominally 24v) to power 12 volt accessories.

Some of them actually output 14v because that is what some CB radios
expect but that won't worry the Soekris.
