[Soekris] Has anyone built and run a linux 2.6 kernel on a net4501 ?

We use 2.6.19.2 currently in Pyramid:  http://pyramid.metrix.net. I  
have have never personally had any
problems building 2.6.X for any of the 45XX or 48XX systems.

In addition to Pyramid there are other distros that use 2.6 including  
Astlinux and Voyage. Maybe looking at the
kernel configs all these distros use and comparing it to yours would  
be a good start.

I have no clue with regards to your specific problem. We use 2.6  
kernels for PXE boot all the time, however we are
only using it to bootstrap the OS install via a dd image pulled down  
from an http server, we do not mount an NFS
root.
