Uh, no I haven't.  My thought was to have both the 4801 and the modem in one small case with a minimum of cables.

I will try your idea, though I can't find the D-Link modem you suggested.  It appears to be discontinued.  Thanks!

Hi,

Have you considered USB modems? The last modem I used regularly was a
D-Link USB modem. No winmodem nonsense, it looked like a serial device and
just worked. That was with OpenBSD.
