[Soekris] com0 OpenBSD not working initally on boot

I have a bit more information for everyone - "cu -l /dev/cua00 -s 9600"
worked with no problem getting the soekris box into single user mode running
under an OpenBSD VMWare install on my machine. However, both Hyperterminal
and Minicom refuse to get past the "b" in "boot -s" on the same computer.
