Hi,
Ive recently put together a Soekris 4521 using the Verizon 5220, a USB
car, and the CM9 wifi a/b/g card from Matrix. Ive tried setting WPA
using the supplied wpa_passphrase and wpa_supplicant tools, but I always
get errors and it hangs. I tell it to use the madwifi driver (believe
thats the correct driver). My wifi card is setup as ath0, not wifi0
which I see mentioned in the errors when trying to set the WPA mode.
Heres the relevant code:
protector:~# wpa_supplicant -iath0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -Dmadwifi
ioctl[SIOCSIWMODE]: Invalid argument
Could not configure driver to use managed mode
wifi0: stuck beacon; resetting (bmiss count 4)
And then it just sits there forever till I kill it with ctrl-c. Anyone
have any pointers?

PS Oh yes, there is a /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf file I created (used rw
and ro). And if I cant set that, can I at least set the allowed macs
and WEP?
