[Soekris] USB2.0 PCI card for a net4801: suggestion?

I am trying to find a PCI card with USB2.0 ports that would work in a
net4801.
I have tried a couple of no-name USB2.0 PCI cards that were keyed for 3.3V
or 5.0V operation (one is based on the ALI M5273 and the other on the VIA
VT6212L), but in both cases the net4801 won't turn on with the cards
inserted: the front LEDs flicker briefly and nothing else happens.
My power supply is 12V and 1.5A, and I just have a CF card in the net4801
(no harddisk or miniPCI card).
I can get locally the Belkin F5U219FR or the Adaptec 3100LP (1913500EU), but
before I got off and start buying every available card, I thought I'd check
to see if someone had some experience with this (searching through the
archives, someone suggested an ASUS card, but without a model number and I
haven't found one in my usual on-line stores).
So, I'd appreciate suggestions on either a board to try out, advice on
finding out how much power those 2 cards need, suggestions for a bigger
power supply, etc.
Thanks,
