[Soekris] VPN IPsec Setup

I am trying to setup an IPsec VPN with a m0n0wall box (NET4511).  I have
been reading m0n0wall's documentation and its my understanding that the
setup should be as follows:

Modem -> m0n0wall (WAN) - m0n0wall (LAN) -> Wireless Router -> workstation

The modem has a router built-in.  Do I need to turn off DHCP on the modem
and turn it on with m0n0wall or have the second router take care of it?
Also, documentation says that IPsec will not work behind a NAT... if I turn
off the firewall on the modem for my 4511 box will that take care of the
problem?

Or can I do this setup

Modem Router ->  m0n0wall (LAN)
Modem Router -> Workstation
Modem Router -> Linksys Wireless Router
