[Soekris] net 4511 PXE boot won't mount NFS

There's not enough of your dmesg there to be sure, but I'm thinking
perhaps the Linux kernel doesn't have the net driver? You say it gets a
DHCP address, but from what I recall (I haven't done this for a couple
of years), it actually needs to get a DHCP address TWICE. First the
BIOS gets one to load the kernel, and then the kernel gets one (very
likely the same) to mount its root filesystem. From the error messages
there, it kinda looks like it's not communicating with the net card at
all.

I always compiled the netcard driver into the kernel in static mode,
rather than as a module, because AFAIK, the kernel can't load modules
until the net card is running. (there may be some way around that with
pxelinux, but I didn't try to learn it that far.) I just put everything
I needed into the kernel to get the system up... filesystem and netcard
drivers were all I really needed. Once the system was up, I could load
anything else from the NFS /lib/modules.

HTH.
