[Soekris] NET4501 and Linux problem

One interesting thing to note is that the standard LILO build actually
writes to the disk on every boot.  I compile it with the -DREADONLY flag
(see the Makefile) to prevent this; I'd previously experienced some
issues which appear to have been caused by that write.
