[Soekris] Soekris 4526 - Null Modem Cable

I found a couple links on communicating with the board via a NULL MODEM 
cable.  All of them have been different so far.  I made two of them already 
and come up with nothing but garbage when using Hyperterminal through 
windows to try to see the input from the board (when power cycling).  I have 
the com port settings on 19200,n,8,1,hardware control.    I tried it on two 
different machines, both show garbage. I thought it might be a baud rate 
issue, but am not quite sure.  I was also wondering if the power would be an 
issue.  I have a 12v 1000mA supply hooked to it.  Anyone have any 
suggestions? Thanks in advance...
