Wow, that's a surprise. From the manual:

"3.5 JP5, User I/O
20 pins 0.050" header with 12 programmable general purpose input/output
ins and com2 serial port access at TTL level"

and

"3.9    JP4, COM2
10 pins 0.050" header for serial port COM2. Can be connected to a DB9
using a defacto standard cable assembly"

As the external COM1 is normally used for emergency logins, I would
prefer to use another serial port...
