[Soekris] PCI Video Solutions?

Do you really need an attached video screen?  You could run the display on another PC.

Remember, this Soekris is only a 266 mhz, a window manager is a lot of over head.
Of course if you don't need a window manager, you can still open xterm windows
thought this set up.  And then there is SSH, which maybe better for you data 
collection?

Also, think USB to serial adapter.

I have been running my 4801 for almost three years.  Solid, pricey but solid.
