Hmm, I don't know what version you were using but I use Apacer Photo-Steno exclusively.
The II series for ages and recently the III series (88x).

I have one in a 4801 running as a firewall which does  greylisting/spamtrapping using 
OpenBSD spamd with the OS installed just like the CF was an HD.

Furthermore all the usual logging is on and spamd is doing verbose logging so that I can see 
what the tarpitted spammers are trying to send.

It generates about 150k of logfile/day and is on a 7 deep rotation.

All of which is, according to some, cruel and unusual treatment for CF. If any cells have died 
they have been mapped out successfully so far (close to a year).

At year end I'm going to pull that unit and replace the CF, using the tortured one in a test 
rig doing constant write/erase cycles to see what I have to do to wear it out.
