[Soekris] Problem communicating/booting over serial line

Dear colleagues,

i am booting from compact flash on a soekris 4801.

The soekris monitor (1.28) is working well, at settings 19200,8,n,1 on 
linux with minicom an on windows with hyperterminal.

But when it should start booting it shows "LILO 22.7" an then displays 
garbage.

Maybe i have a wrong terminal emulation, since it is working until LILO 
or Linux should start.

I have searched the lists but no solution was working for me.

Can someone point me in the right direction ?
