[Soekris] OpenBSD: ral wireless driver, interrupts, and 4501 crashes

I used to use an old PC with a ral2500 based wireless card as an access point. It worked fine, and once I got it up and
running well decided to jump into some nice Soekris hardware.

The problem I'm having is that when I transfer any data over the wireless connection, the interrupt load (as seen by the
'top' command) goes way way up... basically 100%. This seems to trigger the watchdog timer and the machine reboots.

I've noticed that my old machine had a spike in the interrupts during wireless transfers (up to about 40%)... though I'm
not sure if this is a normal thing for devices using the ral driver.

Any ideas? My wife is about to throw the soekris in the trash because all the rebooting is messing up our Vonage service.
