[Soekris] Operation of the error LED on a net4801

Hi,

Sorry if this is a bit of a simple question, but I was just wondering
if anybody could explain to me how it is that the error LED can be
controlled from within software? I want to write a C program which
will be able to activate the LED under certain conditions. Bearing in
mind I'm not the best coder in the world, can somebody please give me
an idea of how to go about doing this?
