[Soekris] Which distro gives best performance?

Hi all,

I'm currently running monowall on my soekris net-4801. As there is not
much development at monowall anymore, I'm thinking of switching to
pfsense.

I'm curious what distro gives best performance on a 4801? My internet
provider updates at least once a year his download speed. We're
currently at 20mbit. I don't want my 4801 to become a bottleneck.

For the moment there are only 3 clients befind the 4801 and I don't
think there will be any added for a while. Normal traffic is some web,
mail, ftp, p2p. Most traffic is ftp download from our main office ftp
server which has enough bandwidth.

I don't care if it's linux or a bsd. An (web)interface would be nice,
but not necessary as the firewall rules only changed 2 times last
year, I think there are only 10 rules right now.

Can the performance gurus give me some advice?
