[Soekris] net4801 as a NAS?

You're right...  actually, looking into it a bit more, I find that the 
Linksys NSLU2 is (also) running at 133 or 266 MHz.

So I guess the net4801 can be used as a comparable device.

Oh well...  a project for one of those late summer weekends...

PS. Still, I'd prefer a net5501 (actually, a successor to the 4801 with USB2 
and GigEthernet would be best :-)
