Contrarian view:
I've found the ram options in 4801 to be adequate but not so
the cpu.
Since we are being generous with our free advice to Soeren here,
let me suggest Soekris consider [1] offering a board based
on the Intel IXP400-series network processors. There is a nice
range of price/performance here including some with built-in
crypto and various packet processing capabilities. I have some
applications that would benefit from extra cpu horsepower (particularly
with HiFn *still broken*, at least in recent openbsds :-(
[2] An additional design feature of value would be to offer a board
in a PCI card form factor, i.e. so one could just plunk them into a
conventional computer's PCI slot(s) which would supply chassis and
power, and ideally host communications, boot etc.
