With curiosity like that it sounds like he will be very gifted with
computers! :)
A locked cabinet would probably work better than window alarms. Children
that age cannot easily learn the art of lock picking. By the time he
reaches an age where he can learn to pick locks via guides on the
Internet, you should be able to trust him enough to nurture that
curiosity by allowing him supervised access, and the locks will become
irrelevant.
