I apologize to those of you who might be on the other mailing lists
I've posted this on (Gentoo-embedded and Orinoco-users), but I'm out
of ideas and am looking for some help... This is on a Soekris 4511,
I've tried the CF card in both the CF slot and in the PCMCIA slot
with a CF-PCCard adapter.
I'm trying to get a Symbol LA-4137 CompactFlash 802.11 card working
in an
embedded environment (Gentoo/busybox/uclibc/etc). I know I'm supposed
to use the spectrum_cs module, and I've built it and compiled it
file, and the module loads without error, but it doesn't seem to
detect the card. I know the firmware needs to be loaded, but is that
necessary before the card will even be detected? I'd like to do this
all manually without hotplug, since it is an embedded system and
space is limited.
Is there anything special that needs to be setup so that CompactFlash
cards are seen as devices to Linux?
Perhaps someone could just give me a rough rundown of what needs to
be done to get the card up and running? I know it involves dumping a
firmware file into sysfs somehow, but I'm not sure how to know which
file is the right device, or even if the device is appearing in sysfs
at all.
Any help would be appreciated.
