2.5" hard drives apparently are not actually designed to work
continuously. FWIW I crashed 3 IBM Travelstar on a GCT/Allwell box,
each after 6/8 months on 24/7 duty. Admittedly, utility power in my
area is actually pretty poor, but my 3.5" drives on servers do last
a lot longer under the same conditions.
