[Soekris] SanDisk CF booting problem

I'm sure this is a common, easily fixable problem (I hope!)
Sometimes (50%) when I power-on my net4501, it shows the fun "No boot
device..." message (even if I hit the reset switch).

I have searched Google and someone recommended trying a different power
supply, so I did that but the power seems just fine.

I have FreeBSD 4.9 installed on a 128MB SanDisk flash card. Following
the instructions from here:
<http://neon1.net/misc/minibsd.html>
Which I have used a few years ago for a net4501, and it worked well
before (I don't have access to the other net4501 to try it's card).

Well, it seems that a 256MB Hitachi card I have works, but the plan
wasn't to use a 256MB card. I know a lot of people use SanDisk cards,
has anyone else had problems like this?

p.s. The Hitachi card is about 1/3 the speed of the SanDisk.
