[Soekris] net4521 and 802.11a performance

Hi,
I have some net4521 boards. I am investigating their use as
802.11a relay devices. In some preliminary performance tests using
IPerf, I am getting not getting more than 10Mbits/sec throughput from
the soekris device to an AP. The radio on the soekris is a Atheros
5212 cardbus radio. The radio on the AP is also of the same type. To
test the throughput I am pumping traffic through the soekris radio at
54M with packet size set to 1470 bytes in order to saturate the link
to the AP. In contrast, a laptop using the same radio that is co-
located with the soekris is able to get roughly twice the throughput
to the same AP. I tested the throughput on all 802.11a channels and
the result is the same. Distance between the AP and the soekris is
not an issue. They are roughly 5 meters away from each other.
My question is: has anyone on this list performed similar tests
on the net4521? I am curious to know the results. I did go through
the mailing list and saw some performance numbers but none that
compare the soekris 802.11a peak performance with a higher powered
device.

Thanks in advance,
-Krishna
