[Soekris] GPIO TTL input

Hello all!

I am needing to setup a serial input TTL line on one of the GPIO lines.
What would be really great is if I could map one of the GPIO pins to a 
TTY and simply read the serial data with a standard serial interface.

I have been looking through the archives and have seen where people 
have said that they have done this but I have not been able to figure 
out the link between them and what I need to do.

Any help would be appreciated.
