[Soekris] cvs via ssh problem: "Corrupted MAC on input", is this a soekris vpn card problem?

Is there anything (eg. a switch or hub) connected between your Soekris 
and your computer?  A google for "ssh Corrupted MAC on input" turns up 
all kinds of people having this problem, on Linux and BSD alike.  Also
