Ok, I did think it would be pretty straightforward via flashboot, and
it turns out that I wasn't too far off the mark (:
Here's a short write-up with no information at all about the things
covered by dozens of documents already. Actually, 'write-up' is
somewhat overstating things - how about 'session capture' as a more
accurate description... still, it should do the trick -

Well, the first half writes ok, but m0n0BSD is not sufficiently
optimised for disk usage to fit on the flash of my -20.
Having set up a few boxes with the whole filesystem as UFS on the
flash (like I think m0n0BSD does), I found managing updates soon
became tedious (and another thing to worry about with remotely hosted
machines). I find the ability to select from a range of
kernel-and-userland bundles from the bootloader via the console port,
in many cases, well worth the loss of ~11mb RAM.
