[Soekris] PXE/TFTP kernel transfer fails

Hi,
 First the details:
 Soekris 4801 bios 1.26
 pxelinux loader
 linux 2.6.8.1 kernel

 I have configured dhcp, tftp and pxelinux for pxe booting. The Soekris box boots to the point that it uploads the linux kernel and then stalls:

I watched the tftp tranfer through tcpdump. It appears to transfer 22 packets and then the 4801 stops responding with acks. 22 packest adds up to about 31k and 23 packets is 33k. Is there some 32k boundry I'm hitting? 

The pxelinux.0 binary, device config file, and the display msg file all tranfer correctly.

 I'm stumped.

 Any ideas?
