[Soekris] Wimax and SBC's

I don't think a fanless PPC based solution is the answer. But, there
are non-Soekris fanless x86 solutions out there, specifically those
based on the VIA Nehemiah C3 1Ghz CPU.

Unless you are doing stateful firewall, IPSEC VPN, and many heavy-
duty services like Apache/PHP4, smtp/imap/pop3, why do you need
so much CPU power?

In a good day, I can get 20+ Mbps out of the Atheros' Madwifi
running Leaf's Wisp-dist on a Soekris 4521. I am surprised that a
Soekris 48xx with its 266Mhz Cyrix processor is having problems
pushing 4-5Mbps. My suspicion is that you might be up against the
ISA limit, if you use the 802.11b pcmcia cards.

PS: <Shamless plug on> I do carry such fanless 1Ghz CPU
products on our website. <Shamless plug off>
