Hi Chad,

I ran into the same thing using Zterm on OSX.  For some reason it
would not download the bios properly.  I went slumming and found a
windoze box and hyperterminal downloaded the bios properly on the
first try.

Re your CF issue: I am not familiar with flashdist or what it purports
to do but you might try using the 'c' slice of the CF (like /dev/sd0c
or /dev/rsd0c).  In some cases I've also had to do 'disklabel -W sd0'
to enable writing of the disk label.  YMMV of course.
