[Soekris] vpn1411 and encrypted file systems

Does anyone know of an OS that is compatible with the Soekris HiFn cards 
that has an encrypted filesystem *and* makes use of the HiFn card ?  I have 
a need to create a backup system that automatically encrypts the data on 
the HD.  However, even with a fast CPU, I cannot write out at the speeds 
that I need.   LINUX, OpenBSD, NetBSD ?  FreeBSD had promise, but the gbde 
system does not make use of the card for crypto transformations.
