I did some research into the linux support for vpn14xx, and it didn't look 
too good.  So I decided not to try it.

There's a project on sourceforge that has been in beta3 mode since 
September 2002.

Then there's the kerneli.org project for crypto API with linux.
Their page looks pretty out of date, I can't tell how this stuff 
interrelates with linux 2.6, or what.

So I ended up not getting a 1401, and not worrying about it yet.
