[Soekris] Soekris 4521 PCMCIA Card Recommendations

Greetings all,

My company is looking at deploying Soekris 4521's in conjunction and
eventually as replacements of our AP-2000's. However, it has just come
to our attention that the hermes based Orinoco Gold PCMCIA cards we run
in our AP-2000's do not natively support BSS master mode and require
tertiary firmware in order to even support this type of functionality.

It seems that HermesAP has developed a workaround to this problem,
but--as there is no planned 2.6 support--we have concerns regarding
longterm support and do not wish to use it in a production point to
multipoint wISP environment.

We are running pebble 2.4.26 w/NoCatAuth and are looking at possibly
using the hostAP module.

My question to the list would be:

What are your recommendations for PCMCIA hardware that would serve in an
AP capacity? I am told I should look into Prism based cards... EnGenius
has come up.
What are your experiences with robustness and manufacturer product
support? If you have had experience with PCMCIA vs. miniPCI which would
you recommend?

Thank you for your answers in advance.
